There are so many wonderful places to visit in Sydney's CBD.  From Circular Quay and the Rocks in the north, to Chinatown and Darling Harbour in the south. There are numerous museums and art galleries; interesting streets with terrace houses, contrasted with modern skyscrapers;  sprawling parks and gardens; and of course, the harbour. The Queen Victoria Building, State Library, NSW Government House and Hyde Park Barracks are my favourite buildings to explore.

To me, The Rocks area the most interesting place to wonder around.  For a great meal try  the Hero of Waterloo and the Glenmore, with its rooftop restaurant. The Palisades near Barangaroo Reserve has terrific food and a lounge with a 180 degree view overlooking Miller's Point.  
 
Many people don't realise that, above Circular Quay, a walk and cycleway provides fantastic views from the bridge to the Opera  house. You can get to it from a lift on the far eastern end (opera house) of the Circular Quay concourse, or via stairs on the southern end of Cumberland Street .
