Sydney Night Ride
This night ride starts from Milsons Point train station.
Ride over the Harbour Bridge and go past Observatory Hill. Cross the short bridge above the Cahill Expressway and down to Kent Street. Ride in the green cycling lane as far as Market Street. Turn right and, at the lights on Market and Sussex Street, follow the walkway onto Pyrmont Bridge.
Opposite the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel follow the path to the right along Pirrama Road, past the Star Casino and the Lyric Theatre. On your way to Anzac Bridge the lighting is poor, so be careful and take your time. Near Anzac Bridge go right into Bowman Street. Take the next left up Quarry Master Drive, and turn right into the green cycle lane on Saunders Street. Follow the cycle lane along Miller and Union Streets, and finally, to Pyrmont Bridge Road and back to Darling Harbour.
Go under Pyrmont Bridge and ride to Hay Street. At the lights on the corner of Hay Street and Darling Drive, go up the pathway to the Goods Line on your right. Again, it is poorly lit and be careful of the tracks. Enter UTS Arcade and go up to George Street. Pass Central Station and go through Belmore Park to Castlereagh Street. Again follow the green cycle lane to Liverpool Street. Go left and , at Kent Street, turn right. When you reach Market Street turn right and ride along the pathway to Pitt Street Mall. At the northern end of the mall, cross King Street at the lights and get onto another cycle lane that goes to Circular Quay and The Rocks.
A ride through The Rocks is fascinating and to finish the trip, get onto Argyle Street and up Watson Road to cross the Harbour Bridge back to Milsons Point train station. This a ride that you can start and finish from anywhere you like.
The total distance is about 18 kilometres. Make sure you have good front and tail lights and ride carefully.
